MARTIN'S NAMES NEW EXECUTIVES.

STERLING, Va.-Martin's Inc., importer and sole distributor of Herend porcelain and Present Tense Home Artistry pottery, has appointed James Gouldin national sales manager. He reports to Dianne Murphy, president of Herend USA, and Kimberley Kimball, president of Present Tense.

Gouldin succeeds Deborah Minger, who left the company. He will manage the direct sales force of both companies and interface with retail accounts.

"Jim has an impressive sales background, which we anticipate will translate positively to our specialty store customers," said Murphy in a statement. "We expect that his proven sales strategies and leadership skills in previous business associations will make a strong contribution to Herend's continued success and Present Tense's increased visibility in the marketplace."

Most recently, Gouldin was president of a medical instrument sales and distribution company.

The Herend Guild, meanwhile, has named Debora Ouellette its marketing coordinator. She reports to Lisa Behe, director of marketing for Herend. Ouellette succeeds Eden Butler, who left the company to start her own business. She will coordinate the day-to-day activities of the Herend Guild; write and edit articles for White Gold, the Guild's quarterly magazine; act as liaison between the Guild, retailer and customer; and interface with the Herend manufactory in Hungary on behalf of the Guild and its membership. Previously, Ouellette was a writer for the chairman and chief executive officer of a printing and publications company.
