MARRIOTT TO MANAGE HOTEL AT GLENPOINTE COMPLEX IN TEANECK, N.J.
WASHINGTON, March 16 /PRNewswire/ -- Marriott Hotels, Resorts and Suites announced today it has signed a contract to manage a 345-room full-service hotel in the Glenpointe area of Teaneck, N.J. The eight-year-old property is owned by Alfred Sanzari Enterprises of Hackensack, N.J. The management agreement becomes effective April 1, 1992.
"The Marriott at Glenpointe will be an excellent addition to our system and serves as a strong example of ownership interest in the operating expertise and value of Marriott," said William R. Tiefel, president of Marriott Hotels, Resorts and Suites.
Located directly across from Manhattan, Glenpointe is a 50-acre mixed-use complex located at the intersection of I-80 and I-95 just 3 miles from the George Washington Bridge. In addition to the hotel, the total complex is comprised of 650,000 square feet of office space, a 26,000 square foot fitness facility and Olympic size pool, parking for 3,100 cars and 164 luxury townhome condominiums.
The hotel features two restaurants, a lounge and gift shop. For meetings, the property offers 22,000 square feet of banquet and conference space, including a 10,500 square foot grand ballroom.
The Marriott at Glenpointe raises Marriott's roster of full- service hotels to 234 worldwide and supports the company's continuing strategy to expand through property conversions. Twelve of the hotels added to the Marriott system in 1991 were also conversions, and in early 1992, the company completed a master franchise agreement for 18 hotels in the United Kingdom. In February, Marriott opened its first hotel in Australia, the Sydney Marriott.
