MARK HOGAN APPOINTED PRESIDENT AND MANAGING DIRECTOR OF GM do BRASIL

 DETROIT, Dec. 2 ~PRNewswire~ -- Appointment of Mark T. Hogan as president and managing director of General Motors do Brasil is announced today by Richard C. Nerod, vice president of GM's Latin American Operations. Mr. Hogan will be headquartered in Brazil. The appointment was effective Dec. 1.
 Mr. Hogan, 41, formerly executive director, North American Operations Planning and Corporate Information Management (CIM), succeeds G. Richard Wagoner Jr., who was named executive vice president and chief financial officer of GM on Nov. 2.
 Mr. Hogan began his GM career in 1973, as a factory analyst with the Electro-Motive Division in Chicago. In 1977, he was appointed to the GM Financial Staff in Detroit and held a variety of positions before being named director of the Treasurer's Office in Detroit in 1982.
 In 1984, he served as group director for the Public Affairs Staff of GM's Chevrolet-Pontiac-Canada Group, and in March 1986, became general manager and comptroller at New United Motor Manufacturing, Inc. (NUMMI) in Fremont, Calif.
 Mr. Hogan returned to Detroit in 1988 as group director of business planning for GM's Truck & Bus Group before being named executive director of planning for GM's North American Operations in March 1992. On June 1, 1992, his responsibilities were expanded to include GM's business information systems.
 A native of Chicago, Mr. Hogan is a 1973 graduate of the University of Illinois and earned an MBA degree from Harvard University in 1977.
