MARK CITRON JOINS BIOSURFACE TECHNOLOGY, INC. AS VICE PRESIDENT OF REGULATORY AFFAIRS AND QUALITY ASSURANCE

 CAMBRIDGE, Mass., Jan. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- BioSurface Technology, Inc. (NASDAQ: BSRF) announced today that Mark Citron has joined the company as vice president of Regulatory Affairs and Quality Assurance. Citron has 15 years of regulatory experience at ConvaTec, a Bristol- Myers Squibb Company, Johnson & Johnson, and the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
 "Mark brings to BioSurface broad expertise in medical products as well as in designing and executing worldwide strategies for product registration," said David L. Castaldi, President and CEO of BioSurface. "He is experienced in the wound healing field and will play a major role in the development and registration of Acticel(TM) wound dressings and Chondrograft(TM) cartilage repair products."
 Citron joins BioSurface from ConvaTec, a developer and marketer of a wide range of health care products. In his role as Director, Regulatory Affairs Worldwide he established the corporate regulatory function and organized worldwide registration programs. Prior to ConvaTec, he held positions at Johnson & Johnson as Manager, Regulatory Affairs and at the FDA as a Review Scientist. Citron received his B.S. in Microbiology from the University of Massachusetts and an M.S. in Bacteriology and Public Health from Wagner College.
 Based in Cambridge, Mass., BioSurface Technology is a leader in the development of living human tissue biodevices grown from normal human cells using tissue engineering techniques. BioSurface was the first company in the world to sell these tissues for therapeutic use. The company manufactures and sells EPICEL-CEA(TM) epidermal skin grafts; is clinically testing Acticel wound dressings; and is developing Chondrograft, a cartilage repair product.
