MARGARET S. MAKELA APPOINTED SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT OF COLONIAL CENTRAL SAVINGS BANK, F.S.B. CLINTON TOWNSHIP, Mich., Nov. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Margaret S. Makela has been appointed senior vice president and chief financial officer of Colonial Central Savings Bank, F.S.B. (Colonial). The announcement was made by Colonial's board of directors. Colonial is a wholly owned subsidiary of Central Holding Company (NASDAQ-NMS: CHOL). Makela joined Central Holding Company (CHC) and its subsidiaries in December 1988 as chief financial officer of Central Mortgage Corporation, another subsidiary of CHC. In 1989, Makela was promoted to vice president and chief financial officer of Colonial and in 1990 was also appointed vice president and controller of CHC. Prior to joining CHC and its subsidiaries, Makela had been an audit manager at KPMG Peat Marwick, an independent public accounting firm. Makela has a bachelor of business administration degree from Wayne State University. She is also a certified public accountant. A resident of Eastpointe, Makela is a member of the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Mortgage Bankers Association of Michigan and the Financial Managers Society. In addition, Makela is currently serving her third year as commissioner of the Eastpointe Parks and Recreation Commission. CHC is a financial services organization headquartered in Clinton Township.
