MANUGISTICS REPORTS RECORD REVENUES AND OPERATING PERFORMANCE IN FISCAL 1994 SECOND QUARTER

 ROCKVILLE, Md., Oct. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Manugistics Group, Inc. (NASDAQ: MANU) today announced record revenues and operating income for its second quarter, ended Aug. 31, 1993. Revenues for the quarter increased 47 percent to $9,149,000 from $6,205,000 for the same period in the previous year. Operating income for the quarter was $1,149,000, compared to a loss of $680,000 during the same period last year. Net income for the quarter was $678,000 or 7 cents per share, which was up from a net loss of $590,000 or 8 cents per share in the comparable quarter last year.
 For the first six months of the fiscal year that will end on Feb. 28, 1994, revenues increased 43 percent to $18,288,000 from $12,831,000 in the same period in the previous year. Operating income during the first six months of the fiscal year was $2,335,000, compared to a loss of $578,000 during the same period last year. For this six month period, net income, was $1,322,000 or 15 cents per share, representing a significant increase over the net loss of $545,000 or 7 cents per share in the comparable period of the previous fiscal year.

The company also closed the largest contract in its history during the quarter which will involve a global implementation during the next few quarters of the company's Demand Planning and Distribution Planning modules of the Manugistics client/server product."
