MANNINGTON EXPANDS ROLES FOR HARTMAN AND DUNCAN TO BETTER SERVE MARKETS
SALEM, N.J., April 23 /PRNewswire/ -- Scott Smith, chairman of Mannington Mills, Inc., today announced that David Hartman and Ed Duncan have been promoted to two newly formed corporate positions of senior vice president, Residential Business Group, and senior vice president, Commercial Business Group, respectively.
These appointments are part of the company's initial steps in unifying the activities of its resilient, wood, ceramic tile and carpet divisions.
"The creation of these new corporate-level positions reflects our ongoing aim to organize the company in a way that focuses on the customer at all levels of the organization," Smith said.
"The most logical way to utilize Mannington's total resources and best concentrate our efforts on the residential and commercial markets is to enhance our focus on residential and commercial business activities across all divisions."
In their new roles, Hartman and Duncan will report to Anthony Kelly, president and chief operating officer of Mannington Mills, Inc.
According to Kelly, they will be responsible along with the resilient, wood, ceramic tile, and carpet division presidents, to assure that the manufacturing, marketing and selling activities of the divisions are aligned to the opportunities and needs of the marketplace.
Hartman has been with Mannington Resilient Floors since 1986, when he joined the company as director of advertising and promotion. He played a pivotal role in the company's new direction as a market-focused manufacturer, which included the extensive marketing introduction for Mannington Gold in September 1990, and subsequent product introductions to the Silver and Bronze Series.
Duncan joined Mannington Resilient Floors in 1988 as director of marketing. As vice president, marketing, of the Mannington Commercial Group, he spearheaded the diversification of Mannington Resilient Floors into the construction of a new vinyl composition tile production facility. He also directed the marketing activities of Mannington Carpets throughout 1991.
"This is the beginning of a long-term process that we feel certain will mean increased marketing congruity and growth for us and our customers," said Smith. "David and Ed have been very instrumental in the development of some of our most innovative marketing directions over the last few years, and we're excited about extending that experience to our other divisions."
Mannington division locations include: Mannington Wood Floors, High Point, N.C.; Mannington Ceramic Tile, Lexington and Mt. Gilead, N.C.; Mannington Carpets, Inc., Calhoun, Ga., and Mannington Resilient Floors, Salem.
Mannington Mills, Inc. is one of the largest floor covering manufacturers in the country, with more than 2,500 employees in the United States and Canada. The company is the only North American flooring manufacturer that sells ceramic tile, carpet, wood and resilient floors. Recently, Mannington began production at its new world-class inlaid sheet vinyl facility in Salem.
