MANN NAMED VICE PRESIDENT OF MOBIL PUBLIC AFFAIRS

 FAIRFAX, Va., April 1 /PRNewswire/ -- James T. Mann, vice president and general manager, U.S. marketing, marketing and refining division, will be proposed for election as a vice president of Mobil Corporation (NYSE: MOB) with responsibility for corporate public affairs, according to an announcement by Allen E. Murray, Mobil's chairman and chief executive officer. He will report to Mr. Murray.
 A graduate from East Texas State University, Mr. Mann joined Mobil in 1966. He advanced through a series of accounting, financial analysis and managerial positions until 1980, when he was named assistant area executive-Africa in Mobil South Inc.
 In 1982 he became manager, financial analysis and controls in corporate finance and, in 1984, corporate assistant treasurer for Mobil Corporation and Mobil Oil Corporation. The following year he was appointed regional executive, Mobil South in Marketing and Refining- International.
 Mr. Mann was named general manager, real estate and land development and president, Mobil Land Development Corporation, in 1987. In 1990 he was appointed vice president, planning, for the marketing and refining division and assumed his current position in 1992.
