MANAGEMENT TECHNOLOGIES INC. AND HEWLETT-PACKARD ANNOUNCE AGREEMENT TO MARKET SYSTEMS FOR FINANCE INDUSTRY

 NEW YORK, Jan. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Hewlett-Packard (NYSE: HWP) and Management Technologies Inc. (NASDAQ: MTCI) (MTI), have announced a development and marketing agreement to sell advanced banking systems on the HP 9000 Series 800.
 Under terms of the agreement the two companies will jointly market MTI's banking systems worldwide.
 "Banks are awakening to the power now available in HP's UNIX computers and the great value in using an open system," said MTI's president, Anthony J. Cataldo. "HP will be providing MTI resources to allow rapid completion and marketing of MTI's new Genesis range of products," he added. "This agreement will provide banks with powerful financial solutions running in a cost-effective open-systems environment."
 "UNIX has moved out of the trading rooms and into the mainstream of financial services institutions," said Bernard Guidon, general manager of HP's General Systems Division. "Financial Services is a strategic market for HP and MTI is one of the key pieces HP's customers need to solve their business requirements."
 HP is the largest supplier of UNIX system-based computers based on worldwide revenue. HP 9000 business servers provide leading price/performance, according to industry-accepted business-computing benchmarks. HP is the third-largest computer supplier in the United States, with computer revenue in excess of $12 billion in its 1992 fiscal year.
 Hewlett-Packard Company is an international manufacturer of measurement and computation products and systems recognized for excellence in quality and support. The company's products and services are used in industry, business, engineering, science, medicine and education in approximately 100 countries. HP has 92,600 employees and had revenue of $16.4 billion in its 1992 fiscal year.
 MTI has systems already installed in money center banks around the world including ABN-AMRO, Chemical, Merrill Lynch International Bank, the Bank of Montreal, Morgan Grenfell and Bank Julius Baer.
