MANAGEMENT TECHNOLOGIES ACQUIRES EXCLUSIVE RIGHTS TO VIEWPOINT
 TOUCH-SCREEN TREASURY SYSTEM AND TECHNOLOGY
NEW YORK, Aug. 25 /PRNewswire/ -- MTI, which markets international banking systems, has acquired all rights to the Viewpoint treasury system developed by International Treasury Systems in Framingham, Mass.
The Viewpoint treasury system offers foreign exchange position- keeping and risk management, windows to display trading decision information, along with other windows offering composite information from various data feeds. The screen is designed to meet the needs of an individual trader by simple touch commands. ITS products are installed at Standard Chartered Bank, the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, American Express Bank and Hong Kong & Shanghai Bank.
"The exclusive rights to ITS is just the first step in making MTI into a full-service provider of systems for international banking," said Anthony Cataldo, the company's president. "Viewpoint complements our treasury management and back office processing systems. The TouchLink products allow us to exploit our own products as well as other software applications systems for other companies. Within the next few weeks, we will announce the addition of other systems that take us along our strategic direction of providing a comprehensive range of systems to satisfy banks from small foreign branch operations to the largest money- center head offices, including systems that run on PC and workstations.
"MTI is leading software developers into the next generation, beyond the limitations of sole-source development shops. While we intend to continue our leading edge development in specific areas, we also will acquire or market products developed by other companies. With this market-responsive plan, we will be able to offer banks solutions that match their needs, solutions supported by a strong technical staff that can make new and existing systems work together in support of the bank's business," said Cataldo.
"Touch-screen provides a significant advance in taking advantage of computer power by making it easy to use," added Cataldo. "Banks will see a greater return on their installed base when traders and corporate customers find the front end so attractive and cost-effective that they use it to create or obtain information directly."
