MANAGEMENT CHANGES ANNOUNCED AT HERSHEY FOODS CORPORATION

 HERSHEY, Pa., Oct. 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Kenneth L. Wolfe, president and chief operating officer, Hershey Foods Corporation (NYSE: HSY), today announced the following management changes, effective Jan. 1, 1994.
 Michael F. Pasquale, senior vice president and chief financial officer, Hershey Foods Corporation, will become president, Hershey Chocolate U.S.A. During 1994, consolidation will take place within the North American operations of Hershey Foods Corporation. Effective 1995, Pasquale will become President, Hershey Chocolate, North America, a new division which will consolidate Hershey Chocolate U.S.A., Hershey Canada and Hershey Mexico operations.
 William F. Christ, president, Hershey International, will become senior vice president, Finance, Hershey Foods Corporation.
 Jay F. Carr, vice president, Marketing, Hershey Chocolate U.S.A., will become president, Hershey International.
 Dennis N. Eshleman, director of Marketing, Hershey Chocolate U.S.A., will become general manager, Hershey Grocery.
 As previously announced on October 5, 1993, Wolfe will become chairman and chief executive officer, Hershey Foods Corporation, on Jan. 1, 1994.

 Hershey Foods Corporation is a leading North American producer of chocolate and confectionery products, a major U.S. producer of dry pasta products, and has international interests in Germany, Italy, Mexico and the Far East.
 -- Biography of Michael F. Pasquale
 Michael F. Pasquale, age 46, is senior vice president and chief financial officer of Hershey Foods Corporation, a position he has held since 1988.
 Pasquale joined the corporation in 1978 as corporate controller and chief accounting officer. In 1983 he was named vice president, Finance and Administration, Hershey Foods Corporation, and in 1985 was named vice president and chief financial officer of Hershey Foods Corporation.
 Prior to joining Hershey, Pasquale was an audit manager for Arthur Andersen & Co., New York.
 A native of Maplewood, N.J., Pasquale received a bachelor's degree in accounting from the University of Notre Dame. He also is a graduate of the Stanford Executive Program.
 Pasquale's professional memberships include the Financial Executives Institute and the Finance Council of the American Management Association. He is vice chairman of the board of trustees of the American Management Association and serves on the boards of Minerals Technologies Inc., Leadership-Harrisburg Area, and the Capital Area Health Foundation & Harrisburg Hospital.
 -- Biography of William F. Christ
 William F. Christ, age 53, is president, Hershey International, a position he has held since 1988. Hershey International is a division of Hershey Foods Corporation.
 He joined the corporation in 1969 as a systems analyst, and has held numerous positions including assistant budget director and budget director, Hershey Chocolate Company; Manager, Corporate Financial Analysis and Budgets and director, Corporate Development, Hershey Foods Corporation.
 Christ also has served as vice president and general manager, Latin American and European Operations and vice president, Finance and Administration, Hershey International; and vice president, Finance and Administration, Hershey Chocolate U.S.A.
 A native of Johnstown, Pa., Christ holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from Virginia Polytechnical Institute and State University and a master's in administration from Pennsylvania State University. He served four years in the United States Air Force where he achieved the rank of captain.
 Christ is a member of the Finance Executives Institute, The Planning Forum and the Conference Board -- Global Management Council.
 -- Biography of Jay F. Carr
 Jay F. Carr, age 49, is vice president, Marketing, Hershey Chocolate U.S.A., a position he has held since 1984. Hershey Chocolate U.S.A. is the largest division of Hershey Foods Corporation.
 He joined the Corporation in 1969 as a Market Analyst and has held numerous positions including Assistant Brands Manager, Brands Manager, Brands Group Manager and Director of Marketing.
 A native of Elkins, W.Va., he received a bachelor's degree in political science from Wooster College and an M.B.A. in marketing from the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School of Business and Finance. In addition, he completed "The Executive Program" at the University of Virginia's Darden School.
 Carr holds numerous memberships and directorships, including the Association of National Advertisers; Elder of Derry Presbyterian Church; Campaign Chairman -- "Understanding Mental Health" -- The Ad Council; vice president, board of directors and a member of the Executive Committee for the National Confectioners Association; and serves on the Board of Directors of Bush Brothers.
 -- Biography of Dennis N. Eshleman
 Dennis N. Eshleman, age 39, is director of Marketing for Hershey Chocolate U.S.A., a position he has held since 1988. Hershey Chocolate U.S.A. is the largest division of Hershey Foods Corporation.
 Eshleman joined the Corporation in 1982 as new products manager. He has held several positions, including category development manager and director of Marketing responsible for new confectionery products and the non-chocolate confectionery business of HCUSA.
 Prior to joining the company, Eshleman served as product manager for General Foods in White Plains, N.Y.
 A native of Lebanon, Pa., he received a bachelor's degree from Delaware Valley College in food technology and an M.B.A. in marketing from Columbia University Graduate School.
 Eshleman is an adjunct professor of Management at Lebanon Valley College in the MBA Program. In 1986, he was cited by Advertising Age as one of the 100 best young ad clients.
