MAKE A SHOW; Steal the star ideas from this year's Chelsea Flower Show.

A TYPICAL Australian garden is to be lived in and enjoyed. Scott Wynd built a masterpiece chill-out zone in among lush planting to create the perfect space in which to relax, eat and entertain. And he threw in a few luxury features, such as a spa and sitting pool.

Steal the style: Make a cohesive design by giving it a sexy circular theme. In this design Scott used circles to link features such as the moon window in the pavilion and cut shapes in the pergola roof as well as the paving feature and the bar stools of the pool's wet bar.

SPIRIT OF THE BEES (left) GARDEN designer Janey Auchincloss and architect Paul Hammond produced an attention-grabbing garden that highlighted the plight of the bee and showed how we can all do our bit for wildlife even in a small urban space by choosing not only wild flowers but ornamental plants which attract bees, such as salvia, echinops and lavender. Steal the style: Use a dark wall or fence as a backdrop to vibrant planting and, to make floors stand out, pick a golden sandstone paving.

Andy Sturgeon used flowers in shades of orange, blue and purple, combined with spiky leaves and seed heads to create exoticlooking borders. These could be viewed through dramatic rust-coloured steel structures and peep-through walls, while listening to the soothing sound of running water in an L-shaped pool.

Steal the style: By leaving areas of sparsely-planted gravel you can create places to pause, contemplate and enjoy the views in your garden. pounds How much Ready-made plant combinations from pounds 20.97 (, 0844 557 2233).

THE M&G Garden was fit to burst with cottage garden favourites that were creatively arranged to bring out their best features such as flower colour and form against a backdrop of contemporary hard landscaping. Steal the style: Designer Roger Platts likes to thread brick pathways through the garden and under pergolas, which are covered in rambling roses to lead to a summerhouse or hidden pond. pounds How much You can visit Roger's own garden "Leydens" at Edenbridge, Kent, TN8 5NH, on Sunday, August 8 12-5pm, pounds 3.50 (children and NGS members free). David Cubero and James Wong fused lush, wild and naturalistic rainforest planting with modern-style shade building to make this otherwise urban setting feel like a Kampung village garden. It demonstrated perfectly how it's possible to turn an English garden into your favourite exotic holiday location.
