MAJU to establish engineering advisory council.

KARACHI -- Head, Computer Systems Engineering department, Mohammad Ali Jinnah University, Karachi (MAJU) Dr. S .M .K .Razi said that due importance is being given to industry linkage with academia and a proposal also under consideration to establish Engineering Advisory Council here at MAJU. He also emphasized to take industry in put in Computer Systems engineering degree program mandatory. This he stated while he was presiding over 5th Board of Studies (BOS) meeting of his department held here last evening at the Conference room of University campus. BOS meeting approved revised Curriculum document for BE-Computer System engineering degree program and revision of scheme of Studies.

Those who attended BOS meeting were included Dr. Mohammad Bilal Kadri, Dr. Ghazanfer Munir, Noman Raza Ansari, Saqib Riyaz, Kaleem Uddin and departmental Secretary, Palwasha Khan. Addressing to the session, Dr. Razi said that as the department of Computer Systems Engineering is moving towards Outcome Base Education (OBE) System, Program Education objectives (PEOs), Program learning Outcomes (PLOs) and their mapping were re-evaluated and then updated to make them in line with departments and Universities mission and vision. He said that it is a matter of great satisfaction that our BOS members agreed Upon the need for adopting outcome based education system and realize that such changes will happen in the process. He said that our vision is to improve the quality of workforce in Computer Systems Engineering discipline up to a level that can be used as benchmark by other institutions. He told that Department of Computer System Engineering aim is to produce graduates having enhanced creative thinking, problem saving skills and ability for lifelong learning in their professional careers and to develop programs that address the evolving needs of industry, academia and society.
