MAJU academic council approved new degree programs.
KARACHI -- Academic Council, Mohammad Ali Jinnah University,(MAJU) Karachi in its 7th meeting held here yesterday at University campus approved new degree programs of BS ( Marketing, Social Sciences, Entrepreneurship, Supply Chain Management and Business Informatics,) MS (Marketing, Supply Chain Management, Bioinformatics, Software Project, Data science and Engineering Management) and Ph D Economics from coming semesters of 2019-20. The meeting which was chaired by President, MAJU Prof. Dr. Zubair Shaikh attended by Vice Chancellor, Capital University of Science and Technology, Dr. Mohammad Mansoor Ahmed, Veteran scholar Dr. Mohammad Ali Shaikh, Deans, Heads of Departments, Registrar, Directors Academics, QEC and CELDD and Deputy Registrar (Admin.) During the meeting the matters related to HEC rules and notifications, review of progress, annual reports and existing programs of the Faculties of Computing and Engineering, Business Administration and Social Sciences and Life Sciences and composition of different Boards were discussed. Academic Council also reviewed proposals of new programs, academic rules and regulation , academic calendar 2019-20, admission schedule and admission test and selection criteria and approved various proposals and recommended various suggestions.
MAJU Dean of Academics, Dr. Imran Jami told the Academic Council that HEC uniform semester guidelines issued last year, our Board of Faculty has adopted these guidelines in all programs along with Outcome Base Education (OBE) program. He further informed that HEC revised and updated rules for Associate degree, admission policy for 14 years graduates, Ph D program and plagiarism policy are also being implemented here in latter and sprit. Addressing to the Academic Council meeting, President, MAJU Prof. Dr. Zubair Shaikh informed that we have introduced a policy of minimum use of papers here and in this connection we have started printing on both sides of a paper. He further told that we have also launched energy conservation program at University campus to avoid unnecessary use of electricity here. He said that in order to maintain high quality of education standard at MAJU Tutorial has been declared mandatory for all course from next semester.
