MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL CHOOSES USA TODAY SKY RADIO AS EXCLUSIVE IN-FLIGHT PROVIDER OF LIVE PLAY-BY-PLAY

WASHINGTON, Sept. 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Major League Baseball has designated USA Today Sky Radio(SM) their exclusive in-flight provider of live baseball play-by-play.
USA Today Sky Radio's all-sports channel airs a Major League Baseball doubleheader seven days a week. The best match-ups available for each date are transmitted live, via satellite, to Sky Radio-equipped aircraft across the nation. Airline passengers hear the same familiar announcers they could tune in at home. Sky Radio's baseball schedule also includes all CBS Radio Network games, Saturday Game-of-the-Week doubleheaders, special pennant-race games, American and National League Championship Series and the World Series.
In addition to Major League Baseball coverage, USA Today's SportsRadio(SM) broadcasts live NFL football, select college football games and NCAA men's basketball.
"Passenger response to live Sky Radio broadcasts of NFL football, NCAA basketball and our other play-by-play programming has been overwhelming. Now fans won't have to miss baseball when they fly," said Sky Radio Vice President Holland Cooke.
"USA Today Sky Radio offers baseball fans something they have never had before," said Peter Widdrington, Major League Baseball administrator. "We are delighted to announce this agreement."
USA Today SportsRadio is being offered to all domestic U.S. airlines and is now available on many United Airlines flights and select Northwest Airlines flights. USA Today Sky Radio is the first live, satellite-delivered, in-flight audio entertainment service. It features around-the-clock news, money, sports and weather reports.
USA Today, Gannet Co., Inc.'s (NYSE: GCI) flagship newspaper founded in 1982, is the country's only national, general-interest daily newspaper and is printed at 32 locations across the country.
