WASHINGTON, Aug. 21 /PRNewswire/ -- The National Health Lawyers

Association (NHLA) has elected Alice G. Gosfield, Esquire, as its 1992-93 president.
Gosfield practices law primarily in Philadelphia through Alice G. Gosfield and Associates, P.C. She is also "Of Counsel" with Blackwood, Langworthy, Schmelzer and Kurlbaum, P.C., of Kansas City, Mo. A nationally recognized expert in health care law, her special emphasis is on non-institutional reimbursement, medical staff issues, utilization management and quality assurance, fraud and abuse, and peer review.
Gosfield has been a member of several committees of the National Academy of Sciences Institute of Medicine, is a member of the board of directors of the National Committee for Quality Assurance and is a consulting editor for Clark Boardman Callaghan. Known for her dynamic speaking style and outstanding writing ability, she is a frequent lecturer and author and has been quoted extensively in the national press and trade publications.

As NHLA's highest-elected officer, Gosfield will serve the nation's largest organization devoted to legal issues in health care. With over 6,500 attorneys and health professionals as members, NHLA conducts national as well as regional educational programs, publishes books, newsletters and periodicals, and offers the NHLA Alternative Dispute Resolution Service.
