MAILMUSIC; Docs' perfect antidote.

Byline: Barry Gordon

SAW DOCTORS, Liquid Rooms, Edinburgh, April 11

FUN was what the good Doctors had prescribed for this gig and it certainly was - a chaotic bash of rootsy Celtic-rock. Lead singer Davy Corton still looks like Father Ted dressed as a teenager and their fighting Irish spirit is as endearing as ever.

Drive Away was full of stomping beats and onstage hurly burly, while All I Ever Wanted touched the heart as well as the head. If you didn't know all the words you were likely to attract accusing stares from the crowd. They might sound like a jumped-up pub band to some but if that's your thing, they're the bee's knees.
