 MAGNETEK NAMES HATFIELD ASSISTANT VICE PRESIDENT -
 ENVIRONMENTAL AND FACILITIES
 LOS ANGELES, Sept. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Dennis L. Hatfield, 44, has been elected assistant vice president - environmental & facilities at MagneTek Inc. (NYSE: MAG), a leading electrical equipment manufacturer. The announcement of Hatfield's election was made by C. Ore Davis, MagneTek senior vice president and chief administrative officer to whom Hatfield will report.
 In his new position, Hatfield is responsible for development and implementation of MagneTek's environmental programs and compliance activities worldwide. He also directs the company's leasing and other real estate activities. He is based in MagneTek's Elk Grove Village, Ill., office and will replace Alan W. Harrington, who has resigned.
 Prior to joining MagneTek, he was a principal of two industrial environmental consulting companies. His career includes comprehensive environmental management with Morton International, Allied Signal, Hercules and the United States Environmental Protection Agency.
 Hatfield holds a masters of management/international business from Northwestern University, a master of environmental engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology and a bachelor of science in chemistry from Purdue University. He is a certified hazardous materials manager and a certified safety professional. He resides with his wife and two sons in Barrington, Ill.
 Based in Los Angeles, MagneTek Inc. manufactures and markets a broad line of Energy Engineered(TM) electrical equipment, including lighting ballasts, transformers, power supplies, drives and controls. MagneTek operates 50 factories and service centers in North America and 10 overseas. Listed on the New York Stock Exchange, MagneTek reported sales of $1.2 billion for its fiscal year ended June 30, 1992.
