 MAGNETEK GENERATOR STARS AT OLYMPICS
ST. LOUIS, July 23 /PRNewswire/ -- MagneTek (NYSE: MAG) sent one of

its top performers to the Summer Olympics in Barcelona, Spain -- a generator supplying electrical power for a musical group providing entertainment at Olympics celebrations.
MagneTek Motors and Controls, based in St. Louis, donated the services of a Genesys(TM) SDX 500 generator set to provide lighting and sound power in Barcelona for Nik and the Nice Guys, a musical group out of Rochester, N.Y. The group is booked for 12 performances, including shows following the opening and closing ceremonies of the Olympic Games.
Nik and the Nice Guys leader Gary Webb said the Genesys generator donated by MagneTek will be used at all performances during the Olympics in Spain. John Pschierer (pronounced "SCHEER"), owner of Rochester Commercial and Industrial Electric, a MagneTek distributor, accompanied the band and Genesys generator to Barcelona. Pschierer, an electrical engineer, has been dubbed "Power God" by Nik and the Nice Guys band members.
Nik and the Nice Guys has performed at Super Bowls, the 1988 Calgary Winter Olympics, colleges, festivals and corporate events across North America. The group has also appeared on ESPN cable television network.
The new Genesys generator was manufactured at MagneTek's plant in Adamsville, Tenn. After the glow of the Olympics has worn off, the generator will be used for less exciting but vital duty, such as supplying back-up power for commercial buildings.
MagneTek provides a wide range of Energy Engineered(TM) electrical equipment and services to utilities and industrial customers. The company operates 65 manufacturing and service facilities throughout North America and overseas, and employs approximately 15,000 associates worldwide. MagneTek's U.S. corporate headquarters is in Los Angeles.
