MAGMA COPPER ANNOUNCES APPOINTMENTS

 TUCSON, Ariz., Nov. 17 ~PRNewswire~ -- Magma Copper Co. (NYSE: MCU) announced that it has elected the following three vice presidents: K. Lee Browne to vice president and general manager, Pinto Valley Division; F.E. "Dee" Durazo to vice president and general manager, San Manuel Mining Division; and Andrew A. Brodkey to vice president and general counsel and secretary.
 Browne joined the company in 1973. He has held various positions in operations and in the Marketing and Sales Division until he was appointed general manager of the Pinto Valley Division in July 1991. He and his family reside in Miami, Ariz.
 Durazo has been with the company since 1975. He held various positions in operations until he was appointed general manager of the San Manuel Mining Division in June 1991. He and his family reside in Tucson.
 Brodkey joined Magma's law department in 1987 and has been its general counsel and secretary since 1989. He and his wife reside in Tucson.
 In addition, John Champagne, president of Magma Metals Co., announced the appointment of Craig Steinke to vice president, controller and Anthony Eltringham to vice president, planning of Magma Metals Co.
 Magma Copper Co., one of the largest primary copper producers in the United States, produces high-quality copper cathode and rod for sale to customers worldwide. Magma also has operations in San Manuel, Miami, Superior and Humboldt, Ariz. Magma Metals Co., a wholly owned subsidiary, operates Magma's smelting and refining complex, located in San Manuel, and conducts the company's marketing and sales activities. Corporate headquarters are in Tucson.
