MACROVISION PREMIERES SURVEILLANCE SCRAMBLING SYSTEM; HIGH SECURITY VIDEO SCRAMBLING FOR SENSITIVE, COVERT OPERATIONS

SAN JOSE, Calif., Nov. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Macrovision unveiled its VES-TS video transmission scrambling system today at the Telecon XIII Tradeshow. The VES-TS system is designed as an unobtrusive, easy-to-use system to secure sensitive video paths including terrestrial microwave and air-to-ground video links.
In covert surveillance operations, the security of a transmitted video signal can be of critical importance to the success of an operation and the personnel involved.
The VES-TS system provides the highest available security for the transmission of video signals via terrestrial microwave, air-to-ground, or other video links. The system consists of a dedicated encoder and decoder pair that can be easily incorporated into any full motion video link. Signal scrambling is achieved using a random line cut-and-rotate process that offers complete image concealment. Eight-bit digital video processors provide high quality decoded video that is effectively identical to the original encoder input. The encoders initiate scrambling with the touch of one button while the decoders operate automatically.
Packaged in a low profile 3 3/4" x 7 1/2" x 16 1/2" enclosure, the VES-TS operates off a 12-volt power supply. Both NTSC and PAL versions process color and monochrome signals.
