MACEDONIAN HONEY EUROPEAN WINNER AT STARTUP EUROPE AWARDS 2017.
Macedonian Honey is the European winner in the climate change category at StartUp Europe Awards 2017. Macedonian Honey was set up with the idea that there has to be a better future for bees, biodiversity and nature.
"In this time of climate change, we need to prevent the extinction of bees and the reduction of biodiversity," the company says.
Macedonian Honey works to prevent the extinction of bees, increase the population of wild bees in nature, protect biodiversity, and reduce the effect of climate change on human existence.
Its beehives are set on the Bistra-Stogovo mountain massif in southwest Macedonia near the cities of Debar and Kicevo, 100 km from the Adriatic Sea, where there is rich vegetation and plenty of healing honey herbs such as thyme, mint, lemon balm and mountain tea.
