MACDONALD DETTWILER CONTINUES SUSTAINED GROWTH OVER 3RD QUARTER.

RICHMOND, British Columbia--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 10, 1995-- MACDONALD,DETTWILER(VSE: MDA) MacDonald, Dettwiler and Associates, Ltd. announced today that gross revenues of $81 million, operating earnings of $3.7 million and net earnings of $2.3 million all reflect a 14 percent increase over the same nine month period of the previous fiscal year.

These results translate into an increased earnings per share of $ .21 for the third quarter of fiscal year 1995 compared to $.18 per share a year ago.

During the third quarter of fiscal 1995, MacDonald Dettwiler continued to put considerable effort into CanadaUs RADARSAT Program. This work is part of an increase to the Company's RADARSAT contract with Spar Aerospace. The Company also teamed with Hughes Aircraft Canada and signed a contract to provide Canada's Military Automated Air Traffic System program.

Gross order backlog was $106 million at December 31, 1994, down from $146 million one year earlier. MacDonald Dettwiler has been awarded a number of contracts subject to the negotiation of final terms and conditions, and management expects several of these negotiations to be completed over the next six months.
