MAC TOOLS ENTERS JAPAN'S AUTOMOTIVE AFTERMARKET WITH
 250 DISTRIBUTORS, SIGNIFICANT MARKET SHARE
WASHINGTON COURT HOUSE, Ohio, April 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Mac Tools, Inc. has signed an agreement with Rikkoh-Sha Co., Ltd., an independent Japanese company that will distribute Mac tools and equipment to the Japanese automotive aftermarket.
"Rikkoh-Sha enables Mac Tools to immediately gain a significant share of Japan's expanding professional automotive technician business," said Charles C. Blossom Jr., Mac Tools vice president-Air Tool Operations, who oversees Mac's Rikkoh-Sha account.
Mobile tool distribution was introduced to the Japanese automotive aftermarket in 1984 by Rikkoh-Sha and its chairman, Toshiaki Nishijima. At that time, establishing a mobile distribution system in Japan was considered impossible.
"Rikkoh-Sha is enthusiastic about our relationship and opportunities with Mac Tools. Rikkoh-Sha is growing in excess of 30 percent a year because of our dedicated distributors whose service exceeds warehouse jobbers' capabilities," said Nishijima.
Most of Rikkoh-Sha's 250 distributors attended the recent Mac Tools International Tool Fair in Reno, Nev., where they traded information with their Mac Tools counterparts from North America and Europe.
Blossom said, "These new distributors received a warm Mac Tools welcome at the tool fair. We consider them a part of the Mac Tools family, and we've become very close with them very quickly.
"Mac Tools is absolutely committed to providing the service and products necessary for Rikkoh-Sha to continue to be successful."
Rikkoh-Sha is headquartered in Yokohama, Japan, with four warehouses located throughout the country.
Mac Tools, headquartered in Washington Court House, Ohio, develops, manufactures and distributes quality hand tools and equipment for use by professional technicians throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico, Europe and the Far East. Mac Tools was founded in 1938 and purchased by The Stanley Works in 1980.
Mac Tools manufacturing operations are located in Georgetown, Sabina and Washington Court House, Ohio and O'Fallon, Mo. Its distribution centers are located in Columbus, Ohio; Oklahoma City; Sacramento, Calif.; Mississauga, Ontario, Canada; and Northampton, England.
