PAT MacARTHUR reckons his close encounter with Scotland will spur him on to get better and better.

But he was denied a first Test when boss Scott Johnson to stick with Ross Ford. McArthur aims to play a stormer for the Warriors at Newport Dragons tonight to prove he should be given another chance to make the big step-up.

McArthur said: "It just makes me want it more. I'm now focused on Glasgow and the important Pro12 match at Rodney Parade.

"I want to perform well so when I get another chance for Scotland I'll hit the ground running."

Meanwhile, outgoing Edinburgh boss Michael Bradley is banking on the return of three Test men to turn round their fortunes tonight against Cardiff at Murrayfield.

Breakaway forward Dave Denton and prop Geoff Cross - also on the Scots bench last week - are back along with Nick De Luca, who had a fractured eye socket.

Edinburgh beat the Bues at the start of the season and Bradley said: "Cardiff are six points and two places above us so it's plain to see the value of another win."
