M4 Data launches LTO drive.

UK tape drive and tape library manufacturer M4 Data has expanded its MagFile tape library product range with LTO (Linear Tape Open) technology.

LTO is a new tape standard agreed by IBM, Hewlett-Packard and Seagate, providing 100Gb of uncompressed data at 10-20Mb/s on a single 4" square cartridge.

Availability and pricing of the new LTO drive was not revealed.
