M.A. HANNA ANNOUNCES THREE EXECUTIVE APPOINTMENTS

 CLEVELAND, Sept. 29 /PRNewswire/ -- M.A. Hanna Company (NYSE: MAH; CHX), an international specialty chemicals company, today announced that Dwight D. Morgan has been appointed executive vice president of marketing and technology for Allied Color Industries, Inc., Broadview Heights, Ohio.
 Allied Color Industries is a business unit of M.A. Hanna that produces color and additive concentrates for the plastics industry from plants in Broadview Heights, Ohio; Phoenix, Ariz.; and Greenville, S.C.
 Morgan, who previously served as senior director, corporate development and public affairs for M.A. Hanna, will report to Allied Color President George M. Chase.
 Coincident with the move, Barbara A. Gould has been promoted to director of public affairs for M.A. Hanna, and David B. Knowles has been named director of corporate strategy and development. Gould and Knowles will report to M.A. Hanna Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Martin D. Walker.
 Morgan joined M.A. Hanna in 1982 as director of public relations and, in 1985, was promoted to director of public affairs. Morgan was named senior director of corporate development and public affairs in 1990.
 Morgan earned his bachelor's degree from Kent State University, Kent, Ohio, and a law degree from the University of Akron, Ohio. Before joining M.A. Hanna, Morgan was employed by Dix & Eaton, Inc., a Cleveland-based public relations company, and Parker Hannifin Corporation, Cleveland.
 Gould, who previously served as manager of investor relations, will be responsible for corporate communications and investor relations for M.A. Hanna.
 She joined the company in 1988 as a senior financial analyst in the financial and strategic planning department. Gould was named manager of investor relations and public affairs in 1990.
 Prior to M.A. Hanna, Gould was employed by Picker International Inc., Highland Heights, Ohio, as manager of business development, and by Firestone Tire & Rubber Company, Akron, Ohio, in a series of planning and financial analysis functions.
 Gould received her bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from the University of Iowa, Iowa City, and her master's degree from Kent State University.
 Knowles previously served as manager of corporate development and will now be responsible for all corporate development and planning activities. He joined M.A. Hanna in 1991.
 Before joining the specialty chemicals company, Knowles was a management consultant with Cresap, McCormick and Paget, a worldwide general management consulting firm based in Chicago. He also was a sales and marketing representative with Dow Chemical Company, Midland, Mich.
 Knowles holds a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, and a master's degree from the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University, Evanston, Ill.
