Scotland-based Howco Group plc, a supplier of alloys for the oil and gas sector, said in had wrapped up the purchase of English computer numerical control (CNC) machining procurement and assembly specialist CTL Engineering Ltd.
- ESTEE LAUDER TO TAKE OVER EDITIONS DE PARFUMS FREDERIC MALLE
US beauty products maker Estee Lauder Companies Inc (NYSE:EL) said it had inked an agreement to buy fragrance brand Editions de Parfums Frederic Malle.
- HIGHSPOT FETCHES USD9.6M IN SERIES A ROUND
US cloud-based sales engagement platform Highspot said it had collected USD9.6m (EUR7.7m) in Series A round with Madrona Venture Group LLC in the lead.
- COMMUNITY HEALTH SYSTEMS TO SHED RIVERVIEW REGIONAL MEDICAL CENTER
Acting via subsidiaries, US hospitals operator Community Health Systems Inc (NYSE:CYH) said it had agreed to sell Riverview Regional Medical Center and related outpatient operations to local hospital management company Prime Healthcare Services Inc.

Finnish media group Sanoma Oyj (HEL:SAA1V) announced it had reached an agreement with Serbian sector player Adria Media Group Ltd for the sale of its stake in Croatia's Adria Media Zagreb DOO.

US private equity group One Equity Partners LLC (OEP) has again put up for sale Austrian packaging solutions provider Constantia Flexibles GmbH after a failed 2013 attempt to float the company.

Bjorn Gulden, chief executive of German sportswear group Puma AG (ETR:PUM), commented on press reports regarding a potential exit of majority shareholder Kering (EPA:KER), saying he had not heard of any plans for a change in ownership.
- BINCKBANK, BLACKFIN CAPITAL SCRAP DEAL FOR ABLE
Netherlands-based independent investors bank BinckBank NV (AMS:BINCK) and private equity firm BlackFin Capital Partners jointly announced that they had terminated the sale of business process outsourcing (BPO) and software and licensing company Able BV.

Netherlands-based security software developer AVG Technologies NV (NYSE:AVG) has been approached by parties interested in taking over the company.
- J&J ACQUIRES INDIAN ENERGY DRINK BRAND ORSL
US holding company Johnson & Johnson Inc (NYSE:JNJ) announced that it had acquired the ORSL health energy drink brand from India-based pharmaceutical product manufacturer Jagdale Industries Ltd.
- NATIONAL GRID, THE BERKELEY GROUP HOLDINGS UNVEIL JV
UK electricity and gas company National Grid plc (LON:NG) and domestic housebuilder The Berkeley Group Holdings plc (LON:BKG) disclosed the establishment of a 50:50 joint venture for the development of major residential and mixed-use development projects across London and the South East.
- GLOBAL INSTITUTIONAL INVESTORS TO BUY STAKE IN INDIAN LENDER EQUITAS HOLDINGS - REPORT
A group of international financial institutions and a private equity firm are planning to invest in India's micro finance lender Equitas Holdings Ltd, purchasing approximately 40% of its share capital in a deal worth roughly USD53m (EUR42.7m).

Sweden's construction and project development company Skanska AB (STO:SKA-B) announced that it was planning to divest its Latin American operation and management (O&M) business, in a bid to simplify operations.

US holding company AccelPath Inc (OTCMKTS:ACLP) said it had agreed to buy a 70% stake in domestic tea and tea accessories supplier Village Tea Company Distribution Inc without elaborating on price.

UK security blinds and emergency lighting systems producer Emmit Plc (LON:EMT) said it was in talks to take full control of local water treatment companies Ximax Environmental Solutions PLC (XES) and Ximax Oil & Gas Solutions (XOG).

US water safety and quality control products supplier Watts Water Technologies Inc (NYSE:WTS) said that it had agreed to pay USD256m (EUR213.8m) in cash on a debt/cash free basis for heating products maker AERCO International Inc to its owner, private equity firm Riverside Company.

US investment manager The Principal Financial Group Inc (NYSE:PFG) announced it would purchase the Hong Kong pension operations of French insurance giant AXA Group (EPA:CS) for around USD335m (EUR270m).

US financial and employee business services firm CBIZ Inc (NYSE:CBZ) said that it had acquired domestic insurance brokerage company Weekes & Callaway Inc.
- EZCHIP BUYS TILERA CORP
Israel-based semiconductor company EZchip Semiconductor Ltd (NASDAQ:EZCH) said it had wrapped up the acquisition of US-based sector player Tilera Corporation in a deal worth up to USD130m (EUR104.9m).
- CHANNELADVISOR BUYS E-TALE HOLDINGS
US e-commerce software provider ChannelAdvisor Corp (NYSE:ECOM) has taken over UK-based sector player E-Tale Holdings Ltd, the buyer said without disclosing the size of the deal.
- ENCODING.COM CLOSES SERIES B INVESTMENT ROUND
US cloud-based video encoding company Encoding.com said that it had received an undisclosed amount of investment in a Series B funding round led by Harmonic Inc.
- ADAVENT, AVISTA TO PAY USD1.53BN FOR UCB'S KREMERS URBAN
Belgian biopharmaceutical company UCB SA (EBR:UCB) is selling Kremers Urban Pharmaceuticals Inc to private equity houses Advent International Corporation and Avista Capital Partners for USD1.53bn (EUR1.24bn) in cash, the parties announced in a joint statement.

US business services provider Cintas Corporation (NASDAQ:CTAS) has announced the sale of its document storage and imaging businesses to three separate companies in three different transactions.

US machine-to-machine (M2M) solutions provider Orbcomm Inc (NASDAQ:ORBC) announced its entry into a definitive agreement to buy Canadian satellite and satellite-cellular terminals provider SkyWave Mobile Communications Inc for USD130m (EUR105m) on a cash- and debt-free basis.

GE Capital, the financial services arm of US conglomerate General Electric Co (NYSE:GE), said it had closed the sale of its consumer finance business in Sweden, Denmark and Norway to a subsidiary of Spanish banking major Banco Santander SA (BME:SAN).
