Lynn Feldman is named Clear Channel Outdoor Americas general counsel.

Byline: Ed Silverstein

Lynn Feldman is the new general counsel and executive vice president at Clear Channel Outdoor Americas. The division handles billboards and related outdoor advertising products in the United States and Canada, and is part of Clear Channel Outdoor Holdings. Meanwhile, Clear Channel Outdoor Holdings is a subsidiary of iHeartMedia, which is best known for owning many U.S. radio stations.

Earlier, Feldman was general counsel for the Wyndham Hotel Group, and was deputy general counsel and a corporate secretary for Wyndham Worldwide. She also worked at Cendant Corporation and at Lowenstein Sandler. She is a graduate of Georgetown University Law Center and Boston College.

In her new role, she will work on regulations, litigation and transactions, and will manage the legal staff, internal investigations and outside counsel matters.

A company spokesman declined to respond to questions on the appointment. The company issued a press release on the announcement this month, though it appears from her LinkedIn profile Feldman started in her new role in June.

The press release from the company noted, too, Feldman had knowledge about the law, legal experience, knowledge of the industrial sector, and showed the ability to be a team player.

Her LinkedIn profile highlighted how she won the Platinum Award in the New Jersey Women's Lawyers Association's Women's Initiative & Leaders category.

Clear Channel Outdoor America and its related companies have been no strangers to recent litigation. Clear Channel Outdoor Holdings settled a lawsuit by shareholders over a loan made to Clear Channel Communications, according to one news report. Another report said how the State of Texas won a lawsuit with Clear Channel Outdoor involving condemnation costs and billboards. And another legal conflict related to Chuck Yeager suing Clear Channel Outdoor for use of his name and image on billboards, according to a news report.

On the other hand, Sen. Charles Schumer (D-New York) has called upon the Federal Trade Commission to investigate company billboards called Radar that can track consumers' movements.
