Lutfi, Head of IOM Delegation Discuss Cooperation in Studies on Immigration.

Damascus, (SANA) -- Chairman of the State Planning Commission Amer Housni Lutfi discussed on Sunday with head of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Syria Maria Rumman the possibilities of cooperation and coordination.The two sides discussed cooperation in preparing studies on the state of immigration and linking it to development, among other issues.For his part, Lutfi stressed the need to study the causes of immigration to reduce it and preserve Syrian capabilities so that they can participate in the development process, adding that the process of converting to the social market economy is going along well, focusing on the social aspect and improving the livelihood of citizens.He also underlined the efforts exerted to protect Syrian expatriates abroad and the cooperation with the IOM, particularly in the field of spreading awareness,In turn, Rumman expressed the IOM's readiness to cooperate with the Syrian government, particularly in the field of preparing studies on the effects of immigration on the various factors of developments.H.
