Lunches for aid agency; Network backs work of foodbank.

Byline: Sharon Liptrott

Members of Dumfries Christian Network have been serving soup lunches to help the First Base Agency foodbank.

Parishioners of St Michael's & South and St John's churches were making warming bowlfuls on Friday along with home-baking which they dished up for a donation to supporters in St John's Church Hall.

Proceeds from the busy hour and a half will go towards creating First Base food parcels for those most in need over Christmas.

Network members also sang carols in the Loreburne Shopping Centre on Saturday.
