Lufthansa Flight Training places additional order for Mechtronix FSTD.
Mechtronix Systems Inc, an MWC company, reported on Wednesday that it has received an order from Lufthansa Flight Training (LFT) in Germany for a new Flight Simulation Training Device (FSTD).
This is the sixth unit acquired by the German pilot school in the past three years. The new simulator, configured as a Cessna Citation CJ1+, will be installed at its facilities in Bremen and is expected to be ready for training in December 2011.
LFT will use the new simulator to train Lufthansa's cadet pilots for the initial phase of their curriculum. It will be evaluated by the German aviation authorities to obtain dual qualification JAR FSTD A FNPT II MCC and FNPT II, Mechtronix said.
Financial details of the contract were not revealed.
