Lucky Girl is top champion.

THE inaugural Pedigree Welsh Pig Society Show held at Beeston Castle, Cheshire earlier this month saw an encouraging entry of 55 animals drawn from Welsh, Duroc and Large White.

The interbreed championship was an all-Welsh affair with David Finch's gilt Siskin Lucky Girl 6th triumphing over Christine Vaughan's boar, Vinery Emperor 4437.

Later in the day, Siskin Lucky Girl 6th went on to win the pedigree Welsh champion of champions final under Chris Jenkins (Burghope) with reserve going to John Flay & Helen Tongue's boar, Slade Vulcan 4th.

Later in the day in the society's sale, Siskin Lucky Girl 6th sold for the top price of 780gns and Slade Vulcan 4th fetched 700gns as the top priced boar.
