Low-cost interface unit monitors production.

An economical machine-interface unit (MIU) for entry-level production monitoring is available from Mattec Corp., Loveland, Ohio. The new MIU-Z unit costs less than $850 and monitors production and downtime at one machine and also allows manual entry of downtime reasons, scrap counts, and scrap reasons. It is compatible with Mattec's entry-level Man-A-ger and ShopPro production monitoring, planning, and scheduling systems. Previous MIUs for those systems serve four to 16 machines and require operators to go to a central location to make manual entries. The new MIU-Z allows manual input at the machine with a keyboard and two-line digital display. Tel: (513) 683-1802 * PT Direct: 221TX
