Low-cost housing: HM the King dedicates 2nd part of Al Amal real estate project in Casablanca.
Casablanca - HM King Mohammed VI dedicated this Friday in the urban commune of Dar Bouazza (Province of Nouaceur), near Casablanca, the 2nd part of "Al Amal" real estate project, comprising 1,000 low cost housing units. 17 October 2014
Part of the national low-cost housing program (250,000 DH/flat), the project reflects the care that HM the King grants to limited-income classes and households, to give them access to decent housing at attractive prices, and the Sovereign's will to create the needed conditions for balanced and lasting human development.
The project is also in line with efforts made to improve the living conditions of a large category of the Grand Casablanca population and also the prevention policy meant to cut the plague of unhealthy housing and, therefore, improve the urban landscape of the city.
"Al Amal" real estate project, worth 250 million DH in investment, extends over a land plot of 6.7 ha. It consists of 1,547 apartments, including 1,000 completed in the 2nd phase, 400 shops, a primary school, a sports center, a kindergarten and a small market.
Carried out by "Anouar Al Mostakbal" enterprise, the project is set to reduce the housing deficit in the province of Nouaceur with a view to give rise to new urban poles and support the economic and demographic growth of the Grand Casablanca region.
Concrete measures were adopted to to guarantee that the national low-cost housing program is carried out in best conditions, mainly the creation of a one-stop office at the urban commune of Casablanca, a priori study of the low-cost housing project, a commission of engineers, architects and real estate developers to look into projects and a technical control commission to follow and monitor equipment and construction works.
To date, over 143 projects have been evaluated and authorized. They will consist of a total of 153,918 low-cost flats, 9,918 social integration units, 3.653 low-cost land plots and 520 public and private facilities (schools, mosques, health centers and kindergartens)
On this occasion, the Sovereign toured a sample flat before handing keys and property certificates to ten recipients of the 2nd part of this project.
