Low self-esteem.

I am 13. At the beginning of seventh grade, I had a fight with a friend, got dumped, made my first enemy and didn't get great grades. I am currently seeing a therapist and it isn't helping as much as I want. Can you help?

Dear Low Self-Esteem,

Try not to let one experience or one person put a cloud over you, and know that most girls do wade through some mud at this age. Put one foot in front of the other and you'll find yourself on firmer ground. It's good you are talking to a therapist-be as open as you can. Let the therapist help you. Strive to excel in at least one class since it can boost your self- esteem. This holds true with extracurriculars, too. Are you an athlete, actor, singer, journalist? Developing your strengths builds confidence. Hang in there.
