Air Berlin

Air Berlin will launch twice-weekly Hannover-Moscow Domodedovo flights by the end of this month using Boeing 737-800s. Oct 25, 2007

EasyJet, GB Airways

EasyJet said on Thursday Oct. 25 it had agreed to pay GBP103.5 million pounds (USD$212 million) cash to buy rival GB Airways. The deal excludes GB Airways' take-off and landing slots at London's Heathrow Airport, said easyJet. GB Airways is primarily a London Gatwick-based airline operating to destinations across Southern Europe and North Africa and operates 15 Airbus aircraft. Oct 25, 2007

Niki

Niki will add two Airbus A320s to its fleet as soon as possible in order to open new routes from Vienna to Milan Malpensa, Warsaw, Sophia, Bucharest Otopeni and Istanbul Ataturk. Founder Niki Lauda said he needs the additional aircraft to compete with SkyEurope Airlines' enhanced Vienna service. Oct 25, 2007

Ryanair

Vueling Airlines

Vueling Airlines reported a net profit of [euro]350,000 ($498,750) for the third quarter, a sharp decrease from the [euro]5.02 million earned in the year-ago period. Vueling operated 21 Airbus A320s on 54 routes at the end of the reporting period versus 14 aircraft on 38 routes a year earlier. It added an A320 this month and two more will be delivered in November. It will launch its fourth base in Seville, with three aircraft, next month. However, it confirmed one-year deferrals on deliveries of six aircraft, now scheduled to arrive in 2009, plus cancellation of three additional deliveries. Oct 22, 2007

Vueling Airlines

Vueling Airlines third-quarter revenue rose 49% to [euro]118.4 million on an 84% increase in passengers carried to 2.1 million. Load factor improved 5.4 points to 84.5%. Average fare was [euro]40 compared to [euro]50.10 in the year-ago period. Unit revenue dropped 20% from 6.2 euro cents to 5, whereas CASK ex-fuel fell 14% to 3.69 euro cents and total CASK declined 11.4% to 5 euro cents. Oct 22, 2007
