Weinstein and Flynn present the reorganized seventh edition of this pediatric orthopedics textbook and atlas. The previously separate atlas is integrated with the text, and new detail on developing subspecialities and advances in foundational science are included. The first volume begins with embryology, neuromuscular development, and genetics of orthopedic conditions, followed by imaging, examination, and literature evaluation. Metabolic-endocrine disorders and skeletal dysplasias are covered preceding a chapter on syndromes that may be alerted by orthopedic signs. The volume continues on to cover localized skin & soft tissue disorders, hematopoietic disorders, arthritis, infection, tumors, cerebral palsy, myelomeningocele, scoliosis & kyphosis, vertebral defect & displacement, and the cervical spine. Volume two discusses primarily limb conditions, including dedicated chapters on the upper limb, lower limb, and foot. Specifically discussed are developmental hip dysplasia, Legg-Calve-Perth syndrome, slipped capital femoral epiphysis, limb-length discrepancies and limb deficiency, limb and spinal fractures, and sports medicine. Clinical photographs, radiographs, anatomical and surgical drawings illustrate the text.
