The new arm knuckle is designed not only to look attractive, but also to make it easier for a user to get in and out of the chair. Also, when pressure is applied to the arm of the rocker, the chair becomes stationary to prevent it from rocking. This prevents the chair from rolling forward too far and feeling unstable.
The new style offers more of a total integrated design continuity--rather than having a recliner with one distinct look, a side chair with its own look, etc. Now, traditional La-Z-Boy Healthcare recliners will include the wood knuckle on the arm, which matches the single seat style as well as the upholstered lobby seating. The new groups also feature bolt-on wood parts and components to facilitate ease of replacement.
