Lots of options for Boro.

Byline: Philip Tallentire

Boro will field a strong XI in tomorrow's friendly against Darlington at the 96.6TFM Arena (kick-off 3pm).

Reserve team coach Colin Cooper will be able to pick the likes of Tony McMahon, Andrew Davies, Ugo Ehiogu, David Wheater, Danny Graham and Malcolm Christie, as well as promising signing Herold Goulon.

Darlington warmed up for the visit of their neighbours with a 4-1 home defeat by a Leeds XI, last night.

Leeds took a 14th minute lead when keeper David Stockdale failed to hold a Frazer Richardson cross and Gylfi Einarsson slotted home from close range. Ten minutes into the second half Quakers pulled level when Fabio Dejente volleyed in a Kalu Ngoma left-wing cross.

A raft of substitutions didn't help the flow of the game and Jermaine Beckford scored two goals in five minutes for the visitors before trialist Hayden Foxe rounded off the night by heading in a free kick from the impressive former Quaker Robbie Blake.

Final score: Darlington 1 (Dejente 55) Leeds 4 (Einarsson 14, Beckford 70 & 75, Foxe 88). Attendance: 1355.
