Lord Nazir commends OPC Punjab.
LAHORE -- Member of the British House of Lords, Lord Nazir Ahmed commended the hard work and efforts by the Overseas Pakistanis Commission (OPC) Punjab in resolving the problems of Overseas Pakistanis.
Talking to Commissioner OPC Punjab, Afzaal Bhatti during the visit of Lord Nazir to the OPC Head office, he lauded the efforts of Chief Minister Punjab for establishing OPC.
Lord Nazir said that resolving the issues of majority of overseas Pakistanis, in a short period of time, was a welcome step.
Briefing Lord Nazir about the performance and objectives of OPC Punjab, Afzaal Bhatti said that OPC was playing a pivotal role for timely redressal of the grievances of overseas Pakistanis. For online registration of complaints, an IT based system had also been evolved, he added.
Afzaal Bhatti informed that district based overseas committees had been formed to settle the issues faced by overseas Pakistanis at the grassroots.
Lord Nazir vowed to apprise the Pakistani community living in the UK about the good performance of OPC Punjab so that maximum number of Pakistanis could benefit from the services of the commission.
Commissioner Afzaal Bhatti said that more than four thousand complaints of different nature had been received from overseas Pakistanis, out of which, 50 percent had already been resolved. He further said that overseas Pakistanis could always contact the OPC for settlement of their complaints.
