Looking far away.

Looking far away: Brig. Gen. Farzad Esmaili (photo) told the Fars news agency Sunday that Iran's new Sepehr (Sly) radar can see as far as 3,000 kilometers and "will be able to see the enemy breathing in their bases." That last part is pure hyperbole, but the 3 000-kilometer range is quite possible. The United States deployed a radar with a range of 3,000 kilometers more than half a century ago in 1961. The longest radar now can see out 5,500 kilometers. Esmaili said 40 percent of the planned Sepehr system has so far been deployed.
