Lookalike looks to his laurels.

IN COVENTRY, Pavarotti lookalike Barry Long (right) said he didn't know whether he would carry on his act following the tenor's death.

Barry, of Holyhead Road, Coundon, set up entertainment company LRD Productions after spending 25 years as a Coventry policeman.

He said: "There was nobody like Luciano Pavarotti. I probably receive up to 25 bookings a year to appear as him, even though I can only mime to his music.

"He made opera accessible to everybody - nobody has matched his voice for such depth and the way he had of putting things over.

"He will be greatly missed."

Barry added: "People last saw me at the Longford Festival when I was miming to Nessun Dorma and O Sole Mio, but I don't know whether I will be carrying on.

"It's a strange situation - playing Pavarotti was something I did more for love than anything else. It was a small part of my business but he will be such a great loss to the world."
