But how hot is too hot?

The highest recorded temperature ever in London was a staggering 38.1C, recorded at Kew Gardens in 2003. The hottest day of 2019 so far was recorded inon June 29, coming in at around 34C.

Met Office forecasters have predicted that this week will also be a scorcher, although not quite as hot as 34C.

However, temperatures will stay in the high 20s and early 30s for the whole week, meaning it could be one of the hottest weeks the city has ever seen.

Here is the forecast for this week:

Kicking things off with a bang, it's going to be around 27C today (July 22).

It will cloudy to start, changing to sunny intervals by late morning.
