Loders Croklaan Introduces Reduced Saturated Fat SanTrans(TM) RS39 T20.

Less Saturates, More Performance Than Typical Trans-Free Options

CHANNAHON, Ill. -- Loders Croklaan, a leading and innovative producer of oils and fats, launches SansTrans[TM] RS39 T20, a reduced saturate, trans-free, non-hydrogenated all purpose shortening. SansTrans offers the same functionality as traditional bakery shortenings but with 30 percent less saturated fat than typical trans-free alternatives.

Loders Croklaan developed the SansTrans brand as an ideal no trans, non hydrogenated baking shortening for cookies, cakes, fillings and dairy substitute systems. For food manufacturers who want to still eliminate trans but reduce saturates, we have extended the SansTrans line to meet this demand.

"To meet health professionals' recommendation to lower saturated fats in select healthier foods and ingredients, we developed SansTrans RS39 T20 to offers our customers exactly what they want," said Mark Weyland, Product Manager, Loders Croklaan. "SansTrans continues Loders Croklaan's tradition of delivering quality, high-performance products to customer's needs."

SansTrans RS39 T20 is a shortening based on palm and canola oil, and is non-hydrogenated and no-trans fatty acids are produced during its manufacture. The product is naturally saturated and its solid fat crystallizes readily in the ideal beta-prime form.

SansTrans RS39 T20 offers the following advantages over traditional bakery shortenings:

* Excellent functionality in baked goods

* Reduced saturated fat

* Lower cost compared to other reduced saturate shortenings

* Oxidative stability similar to traditional bakery shortenings

* Improved processability compared to other reduced saturated saturate shortenings

* Trans fat free, no hydrogenation

* 100% vegetable oil

* Kosher
