Local community builders featured.

Brantford and Brant county's unsung heroes will be featured in national year-long advertising campaign saluting 191 community foundations.

A series of print, broadcast, and online messages will feature Canadians who embody the concept of Community Makes You. You Make Your Community. The campaign celebrates the way communities shape the identities of its citizens, and recognizes the role they have giving back to those communities.

St. George resident Wayne Branchaud, Chair of the Board of Directors of the Brant Community Foundation, is one of the featured community champions.

The Brant Community Foundation is a registered charity which builds and manages permanent funds from donors. Donations are invested and managed by professional advisors, and the investment earnings are given out as grants.

"Our campaign salutes Canadians all across the country who are making their homes better places to live. They are at the heart and soul of our communities and we want to celebrate them--and the role they play," said Ian Bird, President of Community Foundations of Canada, the network for Canada's community foundation movement, in a Sept. 30 press release.
