Free Community Breakfast - 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Saturday, Springfield Lutheran Church, 1542 I St. Free. The church joins other local Lutheran churches in a weekend of community services. The breakfast includes pancakes, eggs, sausages, hash browns, milk, juice and coffee.
11th Annual Bow Wow Around Town - 9:30 a.m. registration Saturday, followed by 2-mile walk from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., Prospector Park, 913 S. River Road, Cottage Grove. The Humane Society of Cottage Grove is hosting this annual event, which loops back to the park and ends with door prizes, refreshments and photos. Cost is $10 per person or $15 per family, and includes doggie scarf, refreshments for people and dogs, and door prizes. Proceeds benefit the animals helped by the all-volunteer Humane Society of Cottage Grove. 541-953-9112.
American Association of University Women - 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Westminster Presbyterian Church, 777 Coburg Road. Free. Guest is cartoonist Jan Eliot, who started her comic strip "Stone Soup" in 1995. Over the next 20 years, it became syndicated in more than 300 newspapers around the globe. Eliot cut back to producing a strip once a week several years ago. Program begins at 10:30 a.m., after social hour and business meeting. Park in the lot off Harlow Road. 541-344-4267.
Postponed: Fourth Annual Hop-to-Hop 10K Walk/Run - Originally set for 10 a.m. Saturday, from Hop Valley Brewing's Springfield location at 980 Kruse Way to its Eugene location, 990 W.
