Recruitment of Master Food Preserver Volunteers - Application deadline is Monday for those interested in serving as Master Food Preserver volunteer; selected volunteers receive a minimum of 40 hours of in-depth training in all areas of food preservation, storage and food safety; volunteers then asked to volunteer a minimum of 70 hours to Lane County OSU Extension Service in the year following; cost of eight-week training program is $175, which includes training supplies and resource notebook; this year's classes will be held on Mondays from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., April 11 through June 6, at Community of Christ Church, 1485 Gilham Road; for additional information and an application, stop by Lane County OSU Extension Service office at 996 Jefferson St. in Eugene, visit Lane County Extension website or call 541-344-4885.
