MANews-(C)2009-2016

17 August 2016 - New York City-based social media site LittleThings has made a USD 10m bid offering to purchase New York-based web publisher Gawker Media's Jezebel.com's assets, the company said.

LittleThings is a digitally native media property that scales positive content while influencing women across generations. It launched in 2014.

The company said that the potential acquisition would allow LittleThings to tap into an established younger, millennial demographic to leverage each site's unique female-focused content to a broader audience.

Gawker Media, LLC publishes titles on the Web. It offers brand stories, news, scandals, entertainment stories, mobile Websites, display units, and content sponsorships.

It was founded in 2002. On 10 June, 2016, the company filed a voluntary petition for reorganization under Chapter 11 in the US Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York.

Jezebel is a blog geared towards women, under the tagline "Celebrity, Sex, Fashion for Women. Without Airbrushing." It is one of several blogs owned by Gawker Media.
