Byline: EDITED BY MAGGIE BARRY

Little model that's still sexy at 70 This stunning little car is more than 70 years old and yet its lines and styling mean it's not out of place on today's roads.

The Fiat 1100 Frua Barchetta was the first car built by Carrozzeria Frua in 1946. It will appear at the Concours of Elegance, which takes place at Hampton Court Palace in London from September 1-3. The low-slung roadster was sold to to Luigi Critterio on September 3, 1946, then to Gino Bubbolini 25 days later.

In 1947, it was shown at the Villa d'Este concours, and won a Second Prize of Merit. Clearly the design was as noteworthy in period as it is today.

It was bought by its current owner in 2015. Painted red at the time, it has been fully restored by Gatti Luciano.
